No smoke and mirrors. No jargon. Just honest marketing that works. We believe the best work happens when we collaborate.
2020 has been a tough year for everyone, especially businesses. It’s important not to forget that Email Marketing will play a big part in 2021 for the recovery. Why is that? Email marketing has been going since 1978 and it’s still strong as ever.
If a user is going to give their email to you, they already have an interest with your products or service. It’s a great way to utilise your email marketing list. In our blog you’ll find some new ideas to take your blogs to the next level in 2021.
We all know personalisation is key to email-marketing and according to Monetate there is a 20% increase in sales when using personalised emails. All you have to do is add in the users name and they’re more likely to open it; it’s addressed to them. ‘It feels personable.’
Another new feature that has happened over the past few years with personalisation is that the email isn’t from the brand or business. It’s from a person. Now don’t go removing your brand logo from your email newsletter, it’s important to keep that. People are just more likely to trust and relate to a persons name rather than a brand name. Again as we said ‘it feels personable’.
Did you know you can now take it even further? Let’s say you have a user that is logged into your website and they’re looking at a product or an item, but they don’t complete the transaction. Potentially you could send that user an ‘special sale offer’ of the item that they’re looking at that is unique to them.
Now this isn’t the end of personalised emails, there is so much more that you can do such as send ‘welcome emails’, ‘birthday emails’.
Interactive content in Email Marketing took off in 2019 and it’s going to continue to grow over the next few years. If you’re not doing it, you really should be, it’s a great way to get your users to take an action on behalf of your brand/business.
Have you ever sent a survey email or poll within your email with just a link? That is old school! Make the email clickable and allow the user to do everything in one page. Here is an example of how Expedia are doing it:

This enhances the users customer experience with that brand. This will allow you to see where you are doing well, or could improve.
Another great way to be interactive on emails is to use GIF’s! Who doesn’t love a GIF or a meme. They’re a unique way to engage with your customer. For example, let’s say you’ve just had an event and you want to say ‘Thank you for attending’. By having some video content of an action you can use this as a GIF.
This has to be one of the most important factors to Email Marketing and not just in 2021. You need to be doing this now. By segmenting your audience you will find increased conversion rates. Segmenting your audience is vital. Once users are signed up to your marketing list, they’re all going to have different needs and preferences.
If you have one audience list and you’re sending the same email to all users it’s likely you’ll find users unsubscribing to your content.
Heres is a few of ways you can segment your audience list:
