What Blue Cheese Digital Did…

Who are Black Country Multicultural Day?

Black Country Multicultural Day (BCMD) is an event to showcase how the people of the Black Country have become cultural diverse in recent years, and about promoting understanding within communities. 2025 was the fifth event, following success of the last 4 years in Dudley Town Centre & Halesowen. On 19th July 2025 they returned at Somers Square, Halesowen. The day started in the rain and opened with the Life Central Church Band & words from multiple members of Halesowen including the Mayor, Police Crime Commissioner & local partners/sponsors.

BCMD is all about making friends with people from different backgrounds and life experiences; and learning about their values. Through education and communication, the event promoted the spirit of peace, harmony and unity in the community of Halesowen and the Black Country.

What was the project?

After working with Black Country Multicultural Day last year, they approached Blue Cheese Digital again to support them with their campaign on promoting the event on the 19th July at Somers Square, Halesowen. Throughout the campaign we used a couple of social media channels which were Facebook & Instagram. The message throughout the campaign was to help promote the area of the Black Country; bringing people together and showcasing the amazing local talent in the Black Country which included: live music, arts and crafts and dance workshops.

The event on the day took across 2 locations on the day one in Somers Square & the other one took place in the Cornbow Shopping Centre. Multiple dance workshops took place inside the shopping centre with various people attending and taking part!

Also as part of the campaign we can’t forget the 1st annual ‘Black Country You’ve Got Talent’. This was hosted at multiple locations throughout Halesowen including: The Coneygre Centre, Picks, Swan Bar & Grill and the grand finale taking place at Benjamins which was attended by over 200 people.

Throughout the campaign there were amazing statistics for a community event with over 100,000 people seeing the event through Facebook alone! 65% of the audience were also organic.

Below, you’ll find some content examples throughout the social media campaign.
