What Blue Cheese Digital Did…
Who are Black Country Multicultural Day?
Black Country Multicultural Day (BCMD) is to show how the people of the Black Country have become cultural diverse in recent years, and about promoting understanding within communities. 2024 saw the fourth event, following success of the last 3 years in Dudley Town Centre & Halesowen.
BCMD is all about making friends with people from different backgrounds and life experiences; and learning about their values. Through education and communication, the event hoped to promote the spirit of peace, harmony and unity in the community.
What was the project?
Black Country Multicultural Day approached Blue Cheese Digital after working on multiple other projects for this event including promotional leaflets, sponsorship pack and also working across the social media throughout the promotion of the event. Black Country Multicultural day asked Blue Cheese Digital to design and create branding for their stage on the day.
We created the stage branding utilising BCMD’s current branding and brought aspects of the ‘Black Country Flag’ into the design; highlighting the manufacturing manufacturing heritage. Elihu Burritt described the Black Country by “black by day and red by night” owing to the smoke and fires of industry. We also added another twist to the flag, by incorporating people in the design of the flag showcasing how the Black Country has changed through multiculturalism.
We also, created an advertising banner which was displayed at the bottom of the stage which housed all of the sponsors and partners that have helped contribute to Black Country Multicultural day and that made the day successful.
The Multicultural day happened on the 20th July 2024 at Somers Square, Halesowen. We’re looking forward to help continue to grow the Multicultural day into 2025 and beyond!
